How to cope with globalization?

The first is the globalization meaning itself. Globalization is the process of interaction and integration between people, companies, and governments worldwide. The influence to the global world is very big. Globalization happen every day; it can be the simplest thing you can think that makes a big influence. Globalization updates every day and become more difficult and complex. This can lead into a positive things and can also lead to negative things. So, it is very important for us to know and to deal with globalization so that we don’t let the globalization overtakes us.

Take a simple and concrete example; the internet. Back when our parents live their teenage lives, internet access that they get, being compared with our era is very diverse. Back then, the spread of internet is not as easy as today. They don’t have the technology to support the spread of information throughout the internet.Now, it is nearly impossible that the teenagers and also the people in our era doesn’t have an internet access.

There are tons of good and positive effects of globalization. One of it is information. With the process and also progress on technology, it will helps us to maintain our daily supply of information. If this happen, people will become more intelligent because they can manage the information that will helps us and lead us to a better society and environment. Also with globalization, we can bind the connection between each other. Technologies like smart phones, tablet, and many more can helps us to get valuable information.

Another positive effect is the technology itself can helps us to produce not only information but also money. The most concrete example is the application of Go-Jek. With this information, the application can helps the customers to get something just by the touch of their hand. Simply by clicking and swiping through your own gadget, you can get the stuff you want with ease.

Not only you will have the benefits to yourself, but by globalization too, countries can make their connection better because with this they interact by doing trades. This will also make our own country to get bigger and better by expanding the infrastructures, and stabilize the economies. This will automatically increase the value of the society; they can live better, especially in economic section that influences many lives. Not only that, the people from other country or the tourist will see our country and decide to visit it because of the development.

But, there are still many people who can’t manage the globalization effect very well. Again, the example is internet. The usage of internet is mostly to get some information that will help us to stay update and stay informative. But, not all of the people obey. They tend to search for some negative content. This will lead them and give them some tendency to do more and more because they have no limitation, and internet access is very easy to look for.

Another negative effect is when we cant handle the information that updates daily. If we don’t know how to deal with this situation, it will become a big issues because it covers a big part of the neighbourhood and the society; we are a part of a society. Also, it will appear the western attitude. This attitude makes us tend to forget about social interaction. That is another reason. If we cant deal with this, we can become very individual person. A concrete example is gadget. If we already focused and rely on our gadget, we have the tendency to forget about what is happening in our neighbourhood. When this attitude becomes reality, attitudes like solidarity, empathy, caring and all of the good attitudes will slowly disappear. If this happen, not only it will give our self a disadvantage, but it also effects on where we live and the society and also the community.

Community is related to many phenomena, patterns of interpretation, and also associations. There is a lot of confusion about the meaning of the community that has exceeded its first meaning which is commonly used by sociologists. Communities usually refer to an environmental group whose members inhabit the same physical space or geographic area in the neighborhood, village, or city. Communities are also defined as a group whose members have similar characteristics, which are usually collected by a sense of belonging or bias by certain social ties and interactions that make the group a separate social entity. For example a tribe or ethnic group, certain religious people, academics, or professional communities.

Social change and globalization encourage the emergence of community development phrases which are usually used to refer to the development projects of an area that includes active involvement in its population. The projects are biased in the fields of education, social welfare, health, infrastructure development such as roads, public wells, irrigation networks, improvement of agricultural facilities, improvement of manufacturing facilities, or development of commercial activities.

Community development in the era of globalization is no longer limited to territorial territories that are local. For example, in terms of efforts to improve material welfare or economic life, there will be circumstances where all economic resources, supply and demand for raw materials, information and transformation of labor, distribution of production or marketing activities are integrated or integrated and are increasingly intertwined in wide-scale interdependence relationships ( world).

So it is very important to have the proficiency; the skills to deal with this process carefully so we can make globalization as a positive thing that can make our lives better, not just individually, but also our live in the community and country.
