Globalization

" What would you do to cope with the globalisation in 10 or 20 more years? "

            Globalization is a process of international integration that occurs because of the exchange of world views, products, thoughts, and other aspects of culture. The progress of transportation and telecommunications infrastructure, including the emergence of telegraphs and the Internet, is a major factor in globalization which increasingly encourages interdependence of economic and cultural activities. Although some claim that globalization began in the modern era, several other experts trace the history of globalization before the time of European discovery and voyages to the New World.

            Lately, globalization has affected all aspects of our lives. Be it attitude, behavior, even the way we speak. Thanks to globalization, we can live better now. However, this is not the case if globalization extends to two important aspects in the life of the nation and state, namely social and cultural. Today, Indonesian culture begins to erode a lot and is replaced by a westernized attitude that is sometimes not in accordance with Indonesian culture. As a smart Indonesian people, we must be able to face globalization. These are some of the things I will do to face globalization.

            First, I will start by loving and using domestic products. By using domestic products, it shows that we are proud of our nation and avoid the Western lifestyle.
Using domestic products does not mean that all of our goods must be made in Indonesia. If indeed the items we need are not produced by Indonesia, we can buy outside goods. However, as long as the items we need are produced in Indonesia, we try to use those made in Indonesia.

            Then, I also have to improve the quality of my life (life skill). This can be a capital of competitiveness as well as resilience in the face of competition in the era of globalization. By improving the quality of life, we will not be easily carried away by currents from Western culture. In addition, we also have to increase our confidence. Because with this attitude, we will not be easily influenced or swayed by the influence of globalization.

            And then, I also have to improve the quality of my learning. Being a personal learner is needed in this era of globalization because this is one way to deal with globalization. By having a habit of continuing to learn, you will have insight, knowledge. By having the knowledge and insight, you will be able to compete in the era of globalization and appear to be a superior and qualified person.

            In addition to improving the quality of learning, I also must always follow the development of science and technology. Because nowadays, all of them have used technology that will be increasingly sophisticated today. This needs to be done so that Indonesian society is able to filter good and useful information and not easily fooled by various information from outside.

            Next, I will also start to re-grow a sense of nationalism. This aims to make the community love Indonesia even more. Efforts to foster a sense of nationalism can be done in various ways, such as always using products made in the country, instilling at the same time implementing the values ​​of Pancasila, instilling at the same time implementing religious teachings, adopting the rule of law, upholding the law correctly and fairly, being selective about the influence of globalization in economic, socio-cultural, educational and political fields.

            And the most important thing is to increase our faith in God. Intelligence alone is not enough to deal with globalization if it is not accompanied by the quality of our faith. Having strong faith is very useful to fortify ourselves from the negative influences of globalization that come from outside, such as drugs, pornography, free sex, etc. That's some of the things I will do to deal with globalization in the next 10 or 20 years.

            Many Indonesian people are still blind about globalization effects and carried away by the flow of Western culture. Therefore, we must also share the knowledge we have with others who do not know about globalization effects so that not only us survive the negative effects of globalization. But, we can also save others. Indeed globalization brings several positive impacts. But in addition, globalization also has a negative impact. But, it all goes back to each individual how we deal with it. Therefore, take the positive side of globalization and throw away the negative side of globalization.
