Globalization

Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well-being in societies around the world.
Globalization is not new, though. For thousands of years, people—and, later, corporation have been buying from and selling to each other in lands at great distances, such as through the famed Silk Road across Central Asia that connected China and Europe during the Middle Ages. Likewise, for centuries, people and corporations have invested in enterprises in other countries. In fact, many of the features of the current wave of globalization are similar to those prevailing before the outbreak of the First World War in 1914.
A new phenomenon in this era of globalization is the meeting of eastern and western cultures. This meeting is expected to give birth to new civilizations on both sides. As a result of this progress, humans are able to take positive aspects of all the cultures they receive in order to enrich the existing cultural elements. Those in the eastern hemisphere get the western rationalist aspect, while those in the western hemisphere can learn and absorb eastern religious values. Thus, rationalist and materialist ideologies that developed rapidly in the west which were supported by the advancement of science and technology could be coupled with eastern spirituality.
What causes globalization ?
1.     Individualistic, that is selfishness.
2.    Materialism, namely the stream that emphasizes material as a source of life.
3.    Hydonism, namely the view of life which considers that pleasure and enjoyment are the main goals in life.
To appreciate and intensify the learning of traditional culture with noble values so as not to influence the cultural elements from outside which are derived from individualism, it has shaken society as a result of the attitude of individualism, materialism and hedonism. This results in the emergence of excessive consumerism because it is too chasing the pleasures of outer life. In these communities, tolerance, kinship, mutual cooperation and social solidarity are the characteristics of the Indonesian personality. As a result, it can damage the Indonesian life system in the future. Therefore, a channel  is needed that is used as a vehicle for change. The channel is in the form of a community institution. The term is replaced by a foreign culture.
Effort to cope the globalization :
1.     Increasing faith and devotion to God Almighty as a negative foreign culture filter.
2.    Increasing the appreciation and practice of Pancasila to strengthen national unity and unity
3.     To live and intensify the learning of traditional culture with high value so that it will not be replaced by foreign culture.
4.     Improve knowledge and skills in order to choose what is good and right for the community. Therefore, not all foreign cultures are good and suitable to be applied to Indonesian society.
5.     Improving education is an effort to improve the quality of oneself so that they can compete with other nations both in finding employment domestically and abroad.
6.    Improve the quality of domestic products in order to compete for local, national and international markets.
7.    Increasing technological mastery in all fields so that we do not depend on other nations, are independent, and believe in ourselves.
8.    Grow performance that is broad-minded and has a high work ethic.
9.     Growing dynamics that are open and responsive to elements of renewal

What I have to do in the future
1.     Learning Foreign Languages or International Languages
The first step if you want to start developing yourself in the era of globalization is by learning foreign languages or international languages. For example, learning English, German, Mandarin, and so on.
2.    Open Minded on Positive Things
Learn to have an open mind, especially for things that are positive and profitable for you. Don't assume that what you think is always right. Learn to accept people's opinions. Choose which one is good and distinguish which one is profitable and which is not. Change your mindset to make it more logical and easily accepted by many parties.
3.    Sharpening continues to be mastered
Master and sharpen your skills. Because with this skill you will get added value. Don't assume skills are just ordinary skills. Because it can be the skill that can lead you to extraordinary success. Don't hesitate to continue honing your skills. For example, following various specific communities or organizations.

4.    Make Planning a Good Life
Make a good and mature plan. Why should there be a plan? All things in life are indeed nobody knows what their destiny is. However, that does not mean we are lazy to determine what will be chosen. Because humans also have the right to plan something in their lives. A good and mature plan will make it easier for you to get lots of new things, for example new experiences. Don't hesitate to make a plan related to the future. Because it is also very important for everyone to do.
5.    Improve Thinking Ability
Increasing the ability to think or more precisely critical in thinking must also be done in the face of the era of globalization. You must be able to process whatever is in your mind. For example, you face a problem. You must solve this in the right and right way. Don't assume that thinking skills have no effect. Because in the era of globalization or the modern era, there will be a lot of critical, intelligent, open-minded, and developing human resources.
6.    Technology awareness
Be aware of technological developments in this modernization era so that later you will not be a generation that is left behind. You can use a smartphone, laptop, or social media to hone your skills in technology. Make sure if you use it wisely. Don't be fixated on something ancient. Because not all ancient things are good and right to apply in the era of globalization.
